While searching for artisanal items in remote areas of Guatemala as part of our Handmade in a Village project, Refuge International volunteer Lynette Goodson came across a hospital/clinic in western Guatemala near Mazatenango in a village called Chocola. Dr. Sergio Castillo had been working in Chocola since 2005, serving the people living in this off-the-beaten-path location.

For the time being, we've had to put a hold on teams going to Chocola but hope to once again return to this area where the need is so evident.
